CAREER and BUSINESS EXPLORATION

SGA Group (SGA) participated in the Buffalo, MN, Career and Exploration Day at Buffalo High School, on November 18, 2025. As part of that effort, one of the students indicated an interest in Landscape Architecture.

On March 7, 2025, Gaia De Young visited SGA’s office and learned how a professional landscape architecture office is set up and functions. SGA principals explained the four types of practice environments a new employee would be exposed to, 1) office; 2) technical; 3) social; and 4) business.

SGA showed her the different types of projects a landscape architect is involved in and active projects in our office. Additionally, SGA partner Graham Sones gave Ms. De Young a site tour of a project currently underway.

Gaia will be attending North Dakota State University (NDSU), starting in the fall of 2025, majoring in landscape architecture.
